![]() ![]() Like I imagine it's pretty hard to level an Int 8 Wizard, or Strength 8 Barbarian, no matter what your guild airship has. If you get into a big guild and make liberal use of the free guild airship buffs, you can probably make just about anything that isn't deliberately self-nerfed work. You'll be signing yourself up for extra work, but if the work is FUN then it isn't really WORK, now is it? :smallbiggrin:Īll that said. A dual-weilding Paladin is probably going to be more challenging than the alternatives, but not impossible either, and a bit of challenge isn't necessarily a bad thing. Not that it's bad, more that the only thing it's really exceptional at is tanking, and dual-weilding is probably a whole lot of investment for fairly little return that takes away from your primary strength.Īll that said. Paladins lack any of those advantages, and the class itself has lagged behind its peers in more recent updates. And possibly Rogue (Sneak attack on many hits). actually, it's a bit more that dual-weilding in general isn't that great unless you're a Fighter (Weapon Spec and Kensai bonuses on each hit) or a Ranger (FE and other bonuses get the feats as bonus feats). :smalltongue:)Įlven Paladins are really bad, play as some other race. I'm planning to start playing this game for the first time* later today, and i certainly wouldn't mind meeting up and playing with some GiTP players.Īlso I'm planning to start as a Elven Paladin(ideally focusing on dual-wielding melee DPS,) any advice? (Example: Elven Paladins are really bad, play as some other race. Some of the mid-late game critters hit hard. CON is important, but not quite as much as people make out - though for a melee character, yeah, you want to max out if possible. If you want TWF DPS, you probably want to go Fighter. To the OP - paladins aren't great at the moment. Though my trapping characters tend to be artificers. ![]() A trapper is useful, and a rogue can be a fairly nice support melee character - use flank and sneak attack. there's a few in Korthos (Stopping the Sahuagin, Captives) and a *lot* in the Harbour (Waterworks, Kobold's New Ringleader, most other quests with kobolds in) followed by even more as you keep going. ![]() Also, I have a guild, would not be interested in a GitP one.Īs far as low level traps - they're pretty common, actually. None low enough level to play with newbies, though. I play regularlyish on Cannith, where I've got a reasonable stable of characters. I don't know if that's still a thing, it was a long time back. There used to be a bunch of people playing on Thelanis with a guild. And how long does it take to level 1-20? I'm rather interested in the whole Past Lives thing with True Reincarnation. As well as maybe people to play along with me, of course, especially since I've heard DDO is a lot better for party-based play than certain other MMOs. I've installed the game yesterday eve, I'll be playing the game every so often from now on, so I'm looking for like-minded fellows and those veterans who have a lot of information to offer on the game. Ah, right when I wanted to start up a thread! Ye ninja. ![]()
